We Are the World: La historia detrás de la canción es un documental que examina cómo se escribió la canción, cómo el productor Quincy Jones y los compositores Michael Jackson y Lionel Richie persuadieron a algunos de los artistas más populares de Estados Unidos para que donaran sus servicios al proyecto, y ofrece una mirada detrás de escena de la maratoniana sesión de grabación que produjo el sencillo.
